One from the history books for The Folklore Foundry.
The original of this coin was found in a field in the middle of Worcestershire back in 2020. The coin is a Merovingian Tremisiss, dated from 584-750ad. The Merovingian empire spanned what is now modern-day France. It has been checked in both the Depeyrot & Belfort museum reference books and appears in neither of them. This makes this the only known coin of its type.
With the coin on its way to a museum the finder wanted a way to commemorate the find in their personal collection. We moulded and cast in 925 recycled silver with various finishes, including an 18k yellow gold plating.
